Fall 2008 Schedule
October
5: Visit to Brian Center to play bingo. Meet at the church at 2:45pm. Bring small
gift for prizes. No food, talc, bar soap or razors. Suggest small stuffed animals
and lotions/deodarants.
24-26: Fall Youth Retreat at Awanita Valley Retreat Center.
November
1: Lutheran Youth Day at Newberry College.
16: Stuff stockings for Salvation Army.
December
13: Caroling for Food Cans at the Newmyer's house and small party afterwards.
14: LCY Midland gathering at the Lowman home.
The Group
Redeemer' middle school youth group is organized for youth in grades 6 through 8. Meeting approximately twice a month, this group' activities are planned and staffed by parent volunteers, with ideas and input from the youth. This group meets primarily for fellowship and service, as most of the youth participate in our confirmation learning program throughout the school year. Unless an activity requires other arrangements, this group usually meets Sunday afternoons, and as with all our groups, youth are invited to bring friends and neighbors to these Redeemer youth events.
Students in this age group may begin to attend more synod youth events, including the 7th and 8th grade weekend retreat held annually in March, twice-a-year Midlands Conference youth gatherings, and the annual convention of the Lutheran Church Youth in SC, usually in June.
